Rui (Ray) Yip

Ray earned his Bachelor of Biomedicine (degree with honours) from the University of Melbourne in 2023. He then joined Vinit Mahajan’s Lab at Stanford Ophthalmology, where he developed gene-circuit based ocular cell therapies. Ray is currently a PhD student in the department of Biology (Cell & Molecular Biology track) at Stanford University. He is broadly interested in utilising high-throughput experimental platforms and computational modelling approaches to develop cell-surface targeting therapeutics. Outside of the lab, you can find Ray playing beginner’s intramural volleyball or cycling on the weekends. He also grew up playing tennis and basketball, though he would be the first to admit his jump shot is not what it used to be.
